Hope Roobol
Hope Roobol is a Development Specialist for EarthSky. Filling her days with proposal writing and investigating new funding opportunities, Hope helps insure that EarthSky will remain a clear voice for science for many years to come. Before joining EarthSky in the spring of 2007, Hope worked with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Lao PDR and was the Funding Officer at the Vientiane Youth Centre. She generated a combined total of over $1 million for population and sustainability initiatives in Lao PDR.
Graduating from Hope College, with a degree in women’s studies and graphic design, Hope has always been passionate about creating more sustainable communities. It is this goal that led Hope to Earth & Sky, one of the biggest, longest-running and best-established science radio shows in the world.
Hope is excited about the challenge of securing new and diverse funding for EarthSky in order to continue to expand the ways they are able to make the connection between scientists and the greater community.
