Peter Zandan
Peter Zandan provides business counsel for EarthSky. He joined EarthSky’s Board of Directors in 1998 and became a Senior Advisor in 2006. Peter has helped to launch, manage and fund numerous business and non-profit ventures including: IntelliQuest Information Group – the world’s fastest growing market research firm in the 90’s; Zilliant – a venture-backed pricing software company; and Evaluation Software Publishing, a K-12 education data analysis software and consulting firm.
Peter has also served as a faculty member at the University of Texas where he is a lifetime member of the Advisory Board of the McCombs Graduate School of Business. He has been selected by Interactive Week as one of the “Unsung Heroes of the Internet” and awarded Ernst & Young’s “Entrepreneur of the Year” for Austin. He has been active in community organizations including Austin’s public television station, Austin City Limits, St. Stephens’ Episcopal School, and Austin 360 Summit.
For his community activities, he has been recognized by the Austin American Statesman as a “Hero of Democracy,” by the Austin Chronicle as “Best Local Visionary,” and by Austin’s leading environmental group as “Soul of the City.” Peter received his M.B.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Texas.
To relax, Peter rides his motorcycle through the Southwest and reads history books.
