Powerful computers battle powerful hurricanes

Hurricanes are one of the most powerful and unpredictable forces of nature. Using some of the most powerful computers yet devised, scientists hope to forecast the behavior of hurricanes and avert future catastrophes. Researchers recently discovered that the relatively calm eye of a hurricane boosts the intensity of hurricanes.
