There’s growing awareness that climate change will make a big impact on planet, and ourselves. One way to mitigate its effects is by protecting and restoring ecosystems – Earth’s life support system.
Earth & Sky’s Jorge Salazar spoke with microbiologist Jim Harris, Chair of the Science and Policy Working Group of the Society for Ecological Restoration. Dr. Harris and his colleagues held a press conference at the 2007 meeting of the Ecological Society of America in San Jose, California. The SER issued a written statement on the importance of ecosystems in response to climate change.
