Human population is expected to rise from 6.6 billion people today, to possibly nine billion — or more — by the middle of the 21st century.
Carl Haub is a demographer at the Population Reference Bureau in Washington, D.C. He spoke with Earth & Sky’s Dan Kulpinski on the hot spots of population growth, where growth is slowing, the shift from rural to urban life, and more.
