Felicia Coleman on oceans in trouble

“My concern is that we’re being very shortsighted on how we view watersheds because any river is tightly linked to marine resources and in all likelihood has significant influences on the food webs that extend far offshore.” – Felicia Coleman
Felicia Coleman is a marine biologist at Florida State University. Her research focuses on the ecology of reef fishes, but she’s also interested in how the data collected by scientists fit into decisions made by policy-makers. EarthSky’s Jeremy Shere talked with Coleman about how the management of rivers and other waterways affects ocean life – and about the role of science in the 21st century.
