Activity 3: Tough Choices
We ask a lot of our forests. We expect them to provide beautiful surroundings for hiking and recreation, wildlife habitats, and steady supplies of wood and other products. As populations grow and more people use forests and wood products, it’s getting tougher to meet all of their demands. In this activity, students will read and discuss several short articles on issues related to the demands we put on our forests. Students will propose solutions to some real-life dilemmas about forests.
